I have not read the books yet, though I’m planning to this summer. I’ve seen all the movies except Red Dragon and Manhunter (and I know the ending of the Hannibal novel), and yes, I do also ship Hannibal/Clarice. However - and this might change when I read the books or it might remain the same - I do not ship them endgame necessarily.
I actually like the ending of Hannibal the movie, because I don’t want Hannibal/Clarice to end up together. I love their dynamic. I love the push and pull and the fascination and the intellectual games between them. I like the hints of strange attraction. But I want it to stay that way. Where there’s a constant game going on between them.
I just really love Clarice as she is in the two movies, fascinated by Hannibal, where he’s in her head, but she always resists him and doesn’t cross that line, so they’re always on opposite sides.
That’s my personal way if shipping them, tho. I don’t mind people who like the novel ending and them being together, I’m pretty sure I’m friends with a few. :)
She died. We were quite close, I did not take her passing well.
Irene Adler, one of the most revered female characters in the Sherlock Holmes stories, will begin her three-episode arc on Thursday, May 9 (10/9c), leading into the two-hour season finale on May 16.
“We’re moving to the next chapter in our show — and in some ways, to a previous chapter in Holmes’ story,” executive producer Rob Doherty says. “Irene Adler is perhaps the most pivotal relationship in Sherlock’s life, and I can’t think of an actress better suited to the challenge than Natalie.”
